Penfield and Penn Yan Earn Section V Titles

Penn Yan dominated Palmyra-Macedon, 19-2, to earn the Mustangs' fourth straight Section V Class D Title on Monday at St John Fisher University.

Bailey Cooper had six goals and two assists as the Clemson signee earned MVP honors. Addison Gillette and Makenna Mullins added three goals each.

Class D All-Tournament- Brynn Henry (Aquinas), Kaylee Hey (Marcus Whitman), Baylee Vilord (Pal-Mac), Teagan Hudak (Pal-Mac), Claire Nolan (Pal-Mac), Lila Hansen (Penn Yan), Makenna Mullins (Penn Yan), Addison Gillette (Penn Yan), MVP Bailey Cooper (Penn Yan). Coach of the Year; Chris Hansen (Penn Yan).

The Mustangs play Eden/North Collins in a Sub-Regional at Churchville-Chili HS on Thursday.

In the Class A game, Penfield shut out Fairport in the first half, 4-0 and the held off a Red Raiders rally to win 9-6 for their second straight Sectional title.

Junior goalie Karis Hand earned MVP honors for the Patriots, who play Lancaster at Churchville on Thursday.
