Weekend Softball Wrap: Fox caps Lyndonville comeback; Waterloo's Panek etches name in NYS record book

Luciana Rozzi and Emma Kambar both paced Brighton, finishing 2-for-4 with an RBI double apiece, a stolen base and one run scored. Elena Toombs singled twice and stole a base while allowing four hits and three runs (two earned) in a complete-game effort with five strikeouts. Maddyn Thompson and Emery Scialo both ended the game with a hit and one run scored. Madeline Havens and Taylor Shoars tallied a hit. Makya Froman went 2-2 with an RBI to pace Greece Storm. Madeline Ewanow and Janalyse Rivera both singled and scored one run. Devanae Anderson doubled and scored one run. Adalei Sawyer and Alexandra Nickles both recorded a hit. 

PENFIELD (9-2) 14
FAIRPORT (3-3) 0 (F/5)

Stephanie Coughlin knocked three hits in four at bats including a two-run single in the top of the fourth to help Penfield close out the win. Coughlin also doubled twice and finished with three RBI and one run scored. Mackenzie Noble allowed one hit and one walk through five innings in the circle, striking out four batters. Noble also recorded an RBI single and one run scored. Claire Maley collected two hits, one walk, one RBI and three runs scored. Mackenzie Whitehead and Alexi Cimino both went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored. Cimino also stole one base. Zara Vattimo-Fetouh doubled while ending with one RBI and three runs scored. Allison Gardner singled and added an RBI while Ella Maley doubled and scored one run. Vivian Russo added a single. Adrianna Bliss recorded the lone hit for Fairport.

Alex Van Ginhoven and Cam Lauterbach both hit a home run in the top of the fourth to give Pittsford Mendon a 2-1 lead it never gave up. Van Ginhoven also recorded a two out hit in the fifth inning to drive in Felicity Knapp and extend the lead. Quinn Sargent struck out four and allowed eight hits to claim the win in the circle. Kinsley Keil paced Webster Schroeder finishing 2-for-3 with one run scored.

Grace Speer led Hilton going 2-3 with two doubles and four RBI to claim the Cadets’ third win in the past four games. Jordan Brozak also went 2-3 and finished with three RBI. Maddie Murphy collected two hits, one RBI and two runs scored. Seraphina Lippa ended 3-4 with three runs scored. Julia Romano, Ella Hill and Evie Goreuski all collected two hits. Caroline Schmitte, Ava Moye and Alex Lippa all singled and scored one run. Juliana Saporito scored three runs while Delaney Lynch scored two runs.

Lola Rivera (10 strikeouts), Ruthie Allen (two strikeouts) and Katherine Russell (one strikeout) combined for a no-hitter in the circle to pace Northstar. Leanna Patrick knocked two hits including a two-run homer in the second inning. Patrick ended with four RBI. Joslyn Robinson ended with three hits and three RBI. Lola Rivera and Lucy Guagliardo both recorded a hit and two RBI. Aprell Davis and Iyuana Carter finished with three runs each. Ruthie Allen and Alexandra Zitz each tallied one RBI.

PALMYRA-MACEDON (4-2) 11

Entering the bottom of the sixth down 10-8, Addi Gendron connected on a one-run triple to tie it for Palmyra-Macedon before Kaedy Andross hit a go-ahead RBI double to right field, scoring Gendron. Gendron also added a walk and two runs scored while Andross added three RBI. Savannah Shaffer finished 4-for-4 with two RBI and three runs scored. Elianna Rowland followed going 3-4 with an RBI and one run scored. Seager Emerick pitched a complete game with 10 strikeouts, allowing eight hits and 10 runs (four earned) to earn the win. Emerick also walked twice, stole a base and scored one run. Kerrigan Connolly singled twice, stole a base and added one RBI and two runs scored. Emma Bedette also singled twice and accounted for two stolen bags, one RBI and one run scored. Asiyah Green and Katelyn Good both tallied two hits and three runs scored to lead Geneva. Good also walked once and added an RBI. Ella Holmes doubled and ended with three RBI. Faith Cunningham singled and recorded an RBI and one run scored. Ella Chambers and Elaina Trout both added a hit and one RBI.

Lauren VanAllen led the way for Wayne going 3-for-5 with three RBI while Sam Taylor went 3-5 with one RBI. Kenzi Jagoa added two hits and an RBI. Jenna Darling paced Midlakes going 3-4 with one RBI. Camryn Harris tallied two hits and two runs scored.

Maddison Brown struck out seven batters and pitched a one-hitter to earn the win for Mynderse. Danielle McDermott went 4-5 with a double and four RBI. Khloe Mahoney also reached four RBI, going 2-3 with a double. Haley Young singled three times while Kyah Lajewski went 2-3 with a triple and three RBI.

Tangel Williams led Waterloo and finished 3-for-4 with a stolen base, two RBI and two runs scored. Jill Robinson pitched a four-hitter with seven strikeouts to earn the win. Henley Guy doubled and finished with an RBI and two runs. Gwyneth Panek tripled and scored one run. Gwen Dilorio singled and added two RBI while Ava Panek singled, walked three times and stole two bases. Sierra Stetzel led Penn Yan with a hit and a run scored.

Kamryn Bonnell led Lyons going 3-for-4 with three doubles, including an RBI double in the bottom of the sixth as part of a three-run inning to extend the lead. Bonnell ended with two RBI and two runs scored. Rylee Richardson also finished 3-4, adding a stolen base, one RBI and three runs scored. Keira Weber fanned 13 batters across seven innings, allowing seven hits and five runs (three earned) to earn the win in the circle. Weber also tallied a hit. Elise Wilkinson doubled twice and ended with two RBI. Addison VanLare singled twice and recorded one RBI. Car’Mella Parker singled and scored one run. Lydia Briggs ended with a triple. Raegan Quigley led Marion/Gananda with three singles and two runs scored. Lydia McKay singled and accounted for an RBI and one run. Joscelyn Erhardt singled and added an RBI. Alexa Phamisith and Kallianne Meyer both recorded a single and one run.

Ava Senka struck out 10 batters and pitched a no-hitter through five innings in the circle to help Wayland-Cohocton claim its third double digit victory in the past four games. Senka also walked once and singled. Riley Burke finished 2-for-3 including a two-run home run in the fourth inning. The eighth grader also scored two runs. Sasha Abramowski collected two hits, two RBI and one run scored while Haven Parker collected two hits, one RBI and two runs scored. Natalie Williamson recorded two hits, one stolen base and two runs scored. Jillian Eddy and Shaila Pragle both recorded a hit, an RBI and a run scored. Emily Moran singled and ended with an RBI.

Gwenyth Strom finished 2-for-3 with a leadoff homer and a two-run double in the top of the fourth to help Livonia create a lead it never gave up. Strom ended the game with a walk, two stolen bases, three RBI and two runs scored. Brooke Minery went 2-2 with a double, a single, a sacrifice bunt and one run scored. Brooke McGregor allowed five hits and three runs (two earned) across seven innings, striking out six. McGregor also added an RBI single and one run scored. Clare Stephens recorded a hit, an RBI and one run scored while Madison Beach singled and scored a run. Chloe Meys and Alexa Olsen both tallied a hit.

Kylie Wilson recorded a walk-off home run to help Le Roy skim past Avon. Bryar Biracree struck out 11 batters in a complete game effort for the win. Jessie Crye fanned 15 batters across 6.1 innings.

Isabella D’Agostino finished 4-for-5 with a walk, a stolen base and two RBI to pace Kendall for its second win in three games. Teagan Shaw was 3-5 with a double and three RBI while Sophia Picardo was 3-5 with a double and four RBI. Gabriella Hauptman struck out three and pitched a two-hitter. Alea Barrett doubled, walked twice and added an RBI. Adriana D’Agostino was 2-2 with two walks, two stolen bases and an RBI.  Brynn Hardenbrook followed going 3-3 with a stolen base and an RBI. Alayna Keirn, Ella Cole, Kourtney Marion and Brooke Rodas each tallied a hit.

Charlotte Peck paced Avoca-Prattsburg with a double, four singles, four RBI and one run scored. Meyah Putnam knocked three singles and finished with four RBI and two runs scored. Meyah also pitched a three-hitter with nine strikeouts. Payton Hopkins accounted for a triple, two singles, a stolen base and three runs scored. Addy Stone ended with two hits, two RBI and two runs scored. Brooke BanSkiver added a hit, two RBI and one run. Abby Squires and Olivia Mullen both recorded two hits and two runs scoffed. Alanna Campbell tallied an RBI and two runs scored. Alison Travis added a hit.

Mylee Miller paced Fillmore going 3-for-3 including a two-run homer after a triple from Morghyn Ross. Miller ended with four RBI and three runs scored. Abby Swift recorded two hits, two RBI and one run scored. Swift also struck out five batters, allowing five hits and five runs (four earned) across five innings in the circle. Lily Sisson went 1-2 with three RBI and one run scored while Chloe Hennard went 1-2 with one RBI and one run scored. Mattie McCumiskey singled and ended with three stolen bags and four runs scored.

Jade Galaska went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, a double, four RBI, and a walk to lead Rush Henrietta. The Royal Comets scored four runs before an out was recorded en route to an 11-run first inning capped off by Galaska’s home run. Elizabeth Brown went 4-for-5 with a home run and four RBI, while Etta Neubeck had two singles and a double to bring four runs across the plate. Kyla Piedici hit 3-for-4 with a walk and three RBI. Lizzie Rinella added two singles and a double with a walk to bat in a pair of runs. Delaney Buttles was 2-4 with a walk, RBI and three runs scored. Lillian Knope walked twice, scored once and had a pair of RBI. Kendall Buttles started and struck out nine over five innings. The ninth-grader singled, walked, drove in two and scored three runs. Addison Wielgosz walked and scored. Spencerport's Isabella Marlatt and Ella Newell both singled and scored.

Bailey DiGiacomo reached on an error to score Addison Ritchie as Churchville-Chili walked off with the win. DiGiacomo finished 1-for-4 with an RBI. Stella Balonek struck out 12 for the win. Gianna Pozzuolo went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles including a two-run, two-bagger in the fifth when the Saints scored four times to take a 4-1 lead. Brooke DiGiacomo doubled, walked and scored a run. Le Roy's Bryar Biracree finished 2-4 including a one-out two-run double in the seventh to tie the score at four. Kylie Wilson was 2-4 with a double and two runs scored. Izabelle Farrell went 2-4 with an RBI and a run scored.

The Saints' second win on Saturday came on the heels of a three-run first inning, capped off by a Kaitlyn Pozzuolo RBI groundout to score Bailey DiGiacomo. Pozzuolo finished with 1-for-3 with a two-run RBI single in the fifth and three RBI in the win. Gianna Pozzuolo finished 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI, while Kenadi Heeg was 1-for-2 with a walk. Bailey DiGiacomo reached base twice, going 1-for-3 and a walk, and crossed home plate both times. DiGiacomo also struck out eight in a complete-game effort in the circle. The senior allowed one run on six hits and a walk.

Arianna Almekinder allowed eight hits and two walks but allowed only one run in a seven-inning complete game. Almekinder picked up the win in a nine-strikeout effort. Libby Grazioplene hit 2-for-2 with a double, two RBI, two walks, and two stolen bases. Lyla Smith’s lone hit came with an RBI double in the second inning, giving Batavia a lead they wouldn’t lose. Adeline singled and drew two walks.

Brenna Ray went 1-for-3 with two RBI in a win for Our Lady of Mercy, decided by a four-run fifth inning. One of Ray’s RBI came on a fielder's choice to break a 1-1 tie. Kendall Schiffhauer went 2-for-3 with a fifth-inning single. Leah Sperry struck out and allowed two runs on eight hits to pick up her third win of the year.

Gwyn Panek went 3-for-4 with a stolen base and recorded her 32nd career triple, a state record, in the Tigers' fourth-straight victory. Starter Gwen Dilorio recorded 12 strikeouts for the win while Ava Panek went 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, and three RBI. Henley Guy went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBI, and scored twice. Alexis Godley went 3-for-4 with an RBI. Godley scored every time she reached base. Brook Hack went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI, while Nina Ninestine hit 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Payton Hopkins and Alydia McIntyre went 4-for-4 with six RBI and four runs apiece in a five-inning mercy rule win for Avoca-Prattsburgh. Hopkins had three doubles and a triple while McIntyre accounted for three doubles, a home run, and a stolen base. Avoca-Prattsburgh scored at least four runs in each of the first four innings. McIntyre also pitched five innings of four-run ball, yielding an earned run and two walks, but struck out 11 of the 20 batters she faced. Charlotte Peck went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI, while Olivia Mullen went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI, and a walk. Abigail Squires hit 1-for-3 with an RBI and a walk.

Camille Campbell was 2-for-5 with a double and three RBI, while Jayden Hootman went 3-for-3 with a home run, a double, two RBI, and two walks. Hotman also earned the win, tossing five innings in the circle and allowing two runs to the tune of eight hits and three walks, while striking out six batters. Juliana Cleveland recorded two RBI and two walks, while Diem Laney hit 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI. Adalyn Ball and Kirsten Wright both batted in one run for the Dragons.

Colleen Talty hit 3-for-5 with a triple and two RBI to lead Caledonia-Mumford offense that has scored in double figures in all five games played this season. Mia Wilson drove in three runs and crossed the plate three times while going 3-6 at the plate. Tori Schumacher was 2-for-3 with a triple, while Kylie Padlick-Field went 2-for-5 with two RBI. Grace Beach (2) and Emma Wyskiel (2) drove in runs for the Raiders. Beach pitched four innings, allowing two hits while striking out six batters, and Padlick-Field threw three no-hit innings, striking out a pair of batters.

Allison Harkness pitched five shutout innings, only allowing three hits, to lead Oakfield-Alabama to a decisive victory. Emma Thompson was 3-for-3 with three RBI, while Raine Denny went 3-for-3 with a double, triple, and an RBI. Chloe Lamb and Ysabella Schrauger both doubled, singled and drove in two runs. Savannah Durham was 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI.

Emma Thompson went 1-for-3 with an RBI to earn MVP honors as Oakfield-Alabama took the Barker Tournament championship. Thompson reached base in 8-of-9 plate appearances. Chloe Lamb joined Thompson on the All-Tournament team going 3-5 with a double, triple and an RBI. Savannah Durham was 2-5 with an RBI and three runs scored. Durham also struck out 13 in a complete-game effort. The sophomore allowed one earned on four hits and a walk. Allie Williams and Raine Denny added a single and an RBI apiece. Rylee Denny, Emma Moeller and Ysabella Schrauger each had a single. Oakfield-Alabama scored eight unanswered runs in the last three innings to pull away for the tournament championship.

In a game in which the Tigers trailed 6-0 by the third inning, Hannah Fox singled to score Brooke Robinson, capping a four-run seventh inning to complete the comeback with a walk-off win. Fox went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a walk while Robinson walked twice. Arnie Sturtevant allowed four earned runs, yielding six hits and four walks while striking out eight batters and going the distance in the win.. Lead off batter Alexa Robinson went 1-for-4 with a walk and a two-run RBI double to tie the game at seven. Isabella Groves went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
