Nine athletes from four schools are headed to Flushing after the 2026 Section V Athletics Girls Tennis State Qualifier wrapped up Saturday, Oct. 17, at Mendon Racquet & Pool Club. The top three finishers in singles and the top three doubles teams will represent Section V at the NYSPHSAA Girls Tennis Championships, presented by UTR Sports, Oct. 26–28 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
Pittsford Sutherland's Jasmine Wu won the singles title, and Pittsford Mendon's Abigail Mosher and Hannah Kulya captured the doubles crown. The two-day event opened Friday, Oct. 16, following the Individual Class Awards Ceremony.

Singles
Wu battled through a three-set semifinal, rallying past Victor's Taylor Scata 4-6, 6-2, 6-4. In the final, she dropped the first set to Victor's Emily Miller before taking the second 6-2, and led 3-2 in the third when Miller retired. Miller had reached the final with a 6-2, 6-2 semifinal win over Pittsford Mendon's Sophia Meng.
Meng earned the third state berth with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Scata in the playback.
Doubles
Mosher and Kulya rolled into the final, dropping just two games in a 6-1, 6-1 semifinal win over Brighton's Arundhati Burly and Taylor Shoars. Churchville-Chili's Leah Baldwin and Grace Hasselberg came back from a set down to beat Pittsford Sutherland's Ella and Ava Libby 3-6, 6-2, 6-4.
The final also went the distance, with Mosher and Kulya prevailing 7-5, 1-6, 6-2 for the title.
The Libby sisters claimed the final doubles spot, defeating Burly and Shoars 6-4, 6-4 in the playback.
