Section V Boys Swimmers and Divers will try to win the mythical New York State Championship.  NYSPHSAA does not offically recognize the section that scores the most points at the championship each year. Section V Coaches and Athletes take pride in watching that point total so they can boast they are the best section in New York State.  The last time Section V could make that claim was 2020. Tradition has been when Section V boys and girls teams score the most points, state champion patches are ordered and athletes have them sewn onto their school jackets.

Swimmers compete in the prelims on Friday March 6th at 10am, and the top 30 advance to the finals on Saturday March 7th.  The divers compete on Friday March 6th at 1:30pm.  The top 20 swimmers and divers score points for the Mythical State Tital.
