Five spots in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) semifinals are on the line this weekend for Section V softball. Action starts Friday with the first of two games at Frontier High School in Hamburg, New York as Fillmore takes on Forestville in the Class D regional. Later, Bloomfield faces Chautauqua Lake. 

The scene shifts on Saturday. Pittsford Sutherland will meet Williamsville South in the Class A game at Grand Island High School. That game is scheduled for a 1:30 p.m. first pitch. Later, Webster Thomas will face Orchard Park in Class AA. 

Haverling will battle with Section IV champion, Susquehanna Valley in Class B. That game is slated for a 1:30 p.m. start at Monroe Community College.
