       Ed Stores arrived in Section V in 1983, after 20 years in Section II and VII. He was superintendent at Attica for 14 years and after he retired, he served as interim superintendent ten times over the next 10 years. He was superintendent representative to the Athletic Council for the Genesee Region starting in 1987. He also was the Boys Vice President to the Executive Committee. He served as President Elect, Pres. and Past Pres. In 1997 he became Executive Director of the Section and served in that role for 19 years. At the state level he served on several committees - Championship Philosophy, Transfer and Combined Team/ Merger.  Ed and his wife Anne split time between Wyoming and Indian Lake. They have 6 children and 13 grandchildren. Ed enjoys hunting, fishing and golfing.
 
      Ed has been and continues to be a long standing, active member of the boys’ basketball committee.
 
        Ed Stores just completed his 29th year as a part of Section V's Executive Committee.  The bulk of his time as the Executive Director, a part-time position with no secretary, was mostly filled working with high school athletic directors on issues including determining eligibility of student-athletes.  Stores was also responsible for the respective schools’ compliance with the New York State Public High School Athletic Association rules in Section V.


          Mr. Stores has been very deservingly recognized twice (2008 & 2017) by Chapter 5 of the New York State Athletic Administrators Association, Inc. with the Distinguished Service Award.
