As quoted by a media source in 2021, Bernie Gardner's legacy at Honeoye Falls-Lima is unparalleled. 108 Section V team titles and 30 New York State championships in a 35-year tenure. A three-sport varsity coach at Honeoye Falls-Lima - cross country, Nordic skiing, and outdoor track and field, Bernie has left his mark on Section V.
Bernie served as the Section V Nordic ski coordinator for over 20 years (also the league coordinator); recently stepping down so he can spend more time cross country skiing in New Zealand.
Thank you, Bernie for leading the way in Nordic skiing in Section V for so many years. Attention to detail, doing what is best for all kids, always providing a laugh or a smile and practicing what he preaches are just a few descriptors of his leadership style. Bernie took his role as coordinator very seriously and Section V is thankful for his commitment.
