Hall of Fame
Noted on her nomination form, Sally was "zealous in her support and promotion of field hockey through her service to the sport and participation in the sport". Sally was involved in every aspect of field hockey. She was part of the USA national team from 1960-1974; traveling to Great Britain, Denmark, France, New Zealand, and Scotland.
In 1977, she earned her national umpire recognition. Sally served as the Brighton High School coach for 17 years. She was Section V Field Hockey coordinator for four years and was the first NYSPHSAA coordinator, holding that title for 10 years.
In 1983, she developed intersectional play for field hockey in New York State. She as an active member of the Rochester area official's organization - GRFHUB, served as President to the USFHA Mideast section for several years and was the Finger Lakes Field Hockey Association President from 1960-1985.
Sally's commitment to the sport of field hockey did not go unnoticed. She is a member of the Cornell Hall of Fame, the USA Field Hockey Hall of Fame and was recognized by the Rochester Press Radio Club in 1983 as the At-Large Sportswoman of the year.
Sally's commitment and dedication to the sport of field hockey has paved the way for the young women who play the sport today. Many thanks Sally!
