Liza Cotter Award Section V Scholarship Week Of 6/22/2020 Sport Track & Field School Harley Allendale Columbia Year Senior Position Hometown High School Harley Allendale Columbia Liza has participated in track and field since seventh grade and has been on the varsity team since eighth grade. She has also participated in cross-country and swimming since seventh grade. She shares that “My favorite memories from high-school sports all surround my teammates." She adds that "I will also never forget the dedication of our coaches, especially Coach Deckman and Coach Mancuso.” Liza plans to attend Princeton University in the fall to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering and says that “As a career, I would love to advance the design of high-quality, low-cost prosthetic devices for US veterans and children both in the US and abroad.” She also says that “I think one word that best describes me is curious. I love learning new concepts, solving problems and challenging myself, even if it means I struggle at first.”
